I’ve now started to use the Management Behaviour Cards at the start of a course to find out the important issues that need addressing with that group.
I give each person a pack of the cards and ask them to outsort up to six behaviours they feel they need development in.
Each person then talks about why they chose a particular behaviour and this brings out the real issue which we write up on a flipchart.
I keep going round the group until we have run out of behaviours.
The content of the course can then be tailored to focus on the spcific issues brought out in the exercise which are relevant to the course objectives.
